Les Opéras
Peter Pan
Transmedia Opera
Musique and Italian libretto by Sergio Monterisi
French version by Magali Thomas
From the original play by J.M.Barrie
Far from clichés, Peter Pan is the expression of a deep questioning. Although written more than a century ago, the themes dealt with, those of the confrontation of childhood with reality, the role of the imagination and magic are all that are most timeless. What is the meaning of growing up? How to grow? Is it giving up on our dreams or making our dreams come true? Have we lost the power to project ourselves into a chimerical world to such an extent that it becomes real? The use of new digital technologies in the transmedia opera Peter Pan helps to immerse the viewer in a magical and unreal atmosphere. The projection of virtual sets replaces the traditional concrete set; 3D animations allow interactivity between the singers and the magical universe in which they move. The action thus continues on the animated images through the immersion of the characters in a three-dimensional world.
