His extraordinary personality, his originality but also his dark side have fascinated generations of musicians. Upon his triumphant return to the stage of Carnegie Hall after twelve years of interruption, we enter his thoughts through the incarnation of his double, Volodia, and discover his deep being, his obsessions, his fears, his memories of exile and his unconditional love for music and piano..
